And the shadow of this myth is scaring many away from harnessing this powerful tool.

So, let's bust this myth with a splash of reality.

THE STORY

During a recent sesh with friends—a sort of digital salon for the modern thinker—the question hung heavy:

Do we need to adopt a code-like lingo to be understood by these silicon whisperers? How do we actually talk to the thing?

Are prompts the AI’s native language?

While prompts serve their purpose, they are not the only way to communicate with artificial intelligence.

Sure, prompts provide structure for routine tasks. They save you time. And prompts break the ice with your shiny new digital mate.

But the art of conversing with AI is as straightforward as a chat with a good friend. Underneath the AI's metallic shell, there's a 'heart' shaped by the rhythms of human conversation.

In other words, artificial intelligence systems are built using large amounts of data, including many conversational cues, that allow it to understand you, whether you use a prompt or not.

And that’s because AI is the great equalizer.

It doesn't just get words; it gets the vibe, the subtle cues, and even the odd typo. It distills the soul of countless interactions to reply in a way that feels friendly and familiar.

It’s designed to decode your intent and engage in meaningful dialogue. Whether English is your mother tongue or your fifth language doesn't matter. You don't need perfect syntax or a programmer's handbook; you just need to be you. 🙂

Create your own AI persona inside ChatGPT

So, what will you create?

  1. Go to ChatGPT and create an account.

  2. Once you’re in the chat, give your name a tap at the bottom left.

  3. You'll see 2 boxes asking how you want ChatGPT to respond.

  4. In the 2nd box, create a character that you wish to talk to. (And yes, you can ask ChatGPT to help you create your character). 😉 

  5. Now go talk to your new AI persona! And ask everything and anything.
